About the role

The Securities & Public Advisory department is seeking a 3-6th year bankruptcy/restructuring associate with experience at a major law firm. Our ideal candidate will have experience in large restructurings, in and out of bankruptcy, representing creditors, especially secured creditors, in both the transactional and litigation aspects of restructuring.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop strategic solutions
  • Participate in negotiations with creditors and other stakeholders
  • Prepare and present legal arguments in court and before regulatory bodies
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective representation
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different practice areas to provide comprehensive legal advice

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience at a major law firm
  • Experience in large restructurings, in and out of bankruptcy
  • Experience representing creditors, especially secured creditors
  • Experience in both the transactional and litigation aspects of restructuring
  • Admitted to practice in the United States

Qualifications

  • Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Strong academic record
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy and restructuring laws and regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Pay

The expected base salary range for this role is $260,000 to $390,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of pay at the time of posting; the actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate’s qualifications.
