RN MedSurg/Tele - Full-Time Nights

Position Summary The Clinical Staff Nurse is a skilled Registered Nurse responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. Reporting to the nurse manager, the role involves organizing, planning, and coordinating individualized care based on the Watson Model of Care, with attention to age and population-specific needs. The nurse actively participates in hospital mission, core values, and quality improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, and problem-solving to meet patient and family needs.Perform focused assessments, recognize subtle clinical changes, and adjust care plans accordingly.Provide age-appropriate care, applying current research and critical thinking for clinical decisions.Maintain therapeutic relationships, conduct hourly rounding, and promote patient satisfaction.Communicate effectively using SBAR, document care accurately, and collaborate with team members.Coordinate discharge planning and review patient orders, promptly communicating significant changes.Evaluate intervention outcomes and utilize patient classification systems.Supervise ancillary staff and participate in unit orientation, training, and quality improvement activities.Ensure a safe, clean environment adhering to regulatory standards.Assist with equipment setup, patient hygiene, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Associate degree or higher in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience; Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care preferred.Current California RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.Basic EKG competence; certifications in progressive critical care or surgical nursing preferred.Bilingual skills (Spanish) and basic computer skills are advantageous.Knowledge of electronic medical records and crisis prevention training preferred.
