About the Role
The Clinical Assistant Manager advocates for efficient, safe, and compassionate nursing care, supporting shared decision-making and professional autonomy. They assist in managing personnel, budgets, strategic planning, and regulatory standards, overseeing overall care delivery on the unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative leadership by collaborating with the Clinical Manager on quality improvement initiatives, staff performance evaluations, and fostering staff development.
- Support staff participation in hospital activities and ensure competency standards are met.
- Ensure safe, therapeutic environments, effective care delivery, and compliance with regulatory standards through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in performance improvement, monitor patient satisfaction, and assist in resource allocation to meet operational needs.
- Maintain visibility on the unit, advocate for patients, and ensure smooth patient throughput.
- Engage in professional development, share best practices, and represent nursing in the community.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, with at least one year in leadership or charge roles preferred.
- Knowledge of nursing standards, performance improvement, JCAHO standards, and healthcare organizational systems.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Current RN licensure, BLS certification, and specialty certification within six months of eligibility.
