About the Role

Under the guidance of the Team Leader and/or Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Therapist Extern (PRN) will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with caring for the appropriate patient population.

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care, including electrocardiograms and non‑invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians and in accordance with established standards and practices.
  • Clean, disinfect, and store respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Restock respiratory therapy supplies.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or have completed, an accredited school of respiratory care and will obtain CRT/RRT credential within 180 days of hire.
  • Perform delegated tasks and data collection taught and verified during the course of study.
  • CRT, RRT, or RPFT certification by the NBRC within 180 days of program completion.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
