About the role
Under the guidance of the Team Leader and/or Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Therapist Extern (PRN) will serve as a member of the healthcare team, providing assistance with caring for the appropriate patient population at Medical City Dallas.
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care, including electrocardiograms and non‑invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians and in accordance with established standards and practices.
- Clean, disinfect, and store respiratory therapy equipment.
- Restock respiratory therapy supplies.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in, or have completed, an accredited school of respiratory care; must obtain CRT/RRT credential within 180 days of hire.
- Ability to perform delegated tasks and data collection taught and verified during the course of study.
- CRT, RRT, or RPFT certification by the NBRC within 180 days of program completion.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
