Respiratory Therapist Extern PRN

About the Role

Under the guidance of the Team Leader and/or Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Therapist Extern (PRN) will serve as a member of the healthcare team, providing assistance with caring for the appropriate patient population at Medical City Dallas, an 895‑plus‑bed tertiary care center.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care, including electrocardiograms and non‑invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians and in accordance with established standards and practices.
• Clean, disinfect, and store respiratory therapy equipment.
• Restock respiratory therapy supplies.
• Perform delegated tasks and data collection taught and verified during the educational program.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited school of respiratory care.
• Obtain CRT/RRT credential (or RPFT) from the NBRC within 180 days of hire.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks and data collection taught in the program.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
