Respiratory Therapist Extern PRN

Medical City Dallas, part of HCA Healthcare, is a 895‑bed tertiary care center with a full‑service adult and pediatric hospital, advanced facilities, and a network of over 1,500 physicians.

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Team Leader and/or Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Care Student (RCS) will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with caring for the appropriate patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care, such as electrocardiograms and non‑invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians, following established standards and practices.
• Perform cleaning, disinfecting, and storing respiratory therapy equipment and restocking supplies.
• Perform delegated tasks and data collection taught and verified during the course of study.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school of respiratory care or have completed the program and will obtain CRT/RRT credential within 180 days of hire.
• CRT, RRT, or RPFT certification by the NBRC within 180 days of completing an accredited program.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks and data collection as taught.
