Respiratory Therapist Extern PRN

Medical City Dallas, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Extern (PRN) to join its team.

Medical City Dallas is an 895‑plus‑bed tertiary care center with more than 1,500 physicians, offering advanced adult and pediatric services, separate emergency rooms, outpatient clinics, and diagnostic centers.

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Team Leader and/or Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Care Student (RCS) will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with caring for the appropriate patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care, such as electrocardiograms and non‑invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians, following established standards and practices.
• Perform cleaning, disinfecting, and storing respiratory therapy equipment.
• Restock respiratory therapy supplies.
• Collect data and perform delegated tasks taught and verified during the course of study.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in, or have completed, an accredited school of respiratory care.
• Obtain CRT/RRT credential within 180 days of hire (CRT, RRT, or RPFT by NBRC within 180 days of program completion).
• Perform delegated tasks and data collection taught and verified in the course of study.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
