Respiratory Therapist Extern PRN
Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Team Leader and/or Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Therapist Extern (PRN) will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with caring for the appropriate patient population. Responsibilities include providing respiratory care such as electrocardiograms and non‑invasive therapy as ordered by physicians, according to established standards and practices, and performing duties related to cleaning, disinfecting, storing respiratory therapy equipment, and restocking supplies.
Medical City Dallas is an 895‑plus‑bed tertiary care center with a full‑service adult and pediatric hospital, separate adult and pediatric emergency rooms, outpatient clinics, and diagnostic centers. The facility supports more than 1,500 physicians and 400+ in‑house physician specialists, offering state‑of‑the‑art technology and advanced treatment options.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited school of respiratory care and/or have completed the program; must obtain CRT/RRT credential within 180 days of hire.
- Ability to perform delegated tasks and data collection taught and verified during the course of study.
- CRT, RRT, or RPFT certification by NBRC within 180 days upon completion of an accredited program.
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
