Respiratory Therapist Extern PRN

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Team Leader and/or Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Therapist Extern (PRN) will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with caring for the appropriate patient population at Medical City Dallas, an 895‑plus‑bed tertiary care center.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care, such as electrocardiograms and non‑invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians, according to established standards and practices.
• Perform a variety of duties related to cleaning, disinfecting, and storing respiratory therapy equipment and restocking supplies.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of respiratory care and/or have completed the program, and will obtain CRT/RRT credential within 180 days of hire.
• Perform delegated tasks and data collection that have been taught and verified in the course of study.
• CRT, RRT, or RPFT certification by NBRC within 180 days upon completion of an accredited program.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
