About the role

SitusAMC is seeking a Residential Mortgage Transaction Manager, Associate for its El Segundo, CA based headquarters. This role focuses on residential transition loans (RTL), single-family rental (SFR), land banking, and other residential mortgage loans. The Associate will manage post-closing transactions, monitor portfolio performance, and support the Residential Mortgage business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute counterparty surveillance procedures to monitor seller, servicer, and originator performance and compliance with transaction agreements
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify collateral and servicing exceptions, and enforce repurchase and buyback rights when applicable
  • Oversee the monthly remittance and waterfall review process, validating cash flows, payment allocations, and servicing calculations
  • Reconcile monthly servicer remittance reports against bank and collection accounts
  • Monitor controlled deposit, collection, and reserve accounts to confirm sweeps, identify misdirected funds, and flag custodial or DACA irregularities
  • Conduct detailed reviews of Residential Transitional Loan (RTL) draw requests to ensure compliance with loan terms and funding requirements
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including Accounting, Operations, and Back office in setting up new investments and ensure accurate reporting in trade booking software
  • Monitor facility-level triggers and covenants, including delinquency and credit event triggers, sponsor financial covenants, and amortization or cash-trap events, and escalate actual or approaching breaches to deal terms and management
  • Provide analytical support, risk management, and operational oversight to meet servicing requirements
  • Research and resolve loan-related issues by collaborating across departments
  • Support management with special projects, process improvement initiatives, and other responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in loan servicing, mortgage operations, or real estate finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and requires minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across departments
  • Knowledge of real estate finance, investments, accounting, and insurance principles preferred
