About the role
MetLife Investment Management’s ("MIM") Private Capital Team is responsible for approximately $164 billion in total assets under management as of December 31, 2025, across Investment Grade Private Credit, Residential Whole Loans, Middle Market Private Capital and Private Equity.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of purchasing closed residential mortgage loans, partnering closely with clients, sellers, due diligence providers, traders, legal teams, custodians, and servicers.
- Review and interpret third party due diligence findings, applying credit expertise and thought leadership to assess compliance, credit, collateral, valuation and title risks, and to drive informed loan-level decision, including escalations, declines or repricing.
- Report key findings to Head of Transaction Management, senior leadership and sellers to navigate escalations and achieve risk-aligned decisions.
- Lead efforts to expand due diligence profiles as needed, to enable a more comprehensive evaluation of credit risk and support sounds underwriting decisions.
- Oversee trade closing activities, including ownership of funding memos and coordination of all related legal documentation to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Manage ongoing workflows and communication with third-party vendors to ensure timely and accurate execution of deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of residential mortgage products, including GSE and private-investor guidelines, near-prime, Qualified Mortgage (QM) and Non-QM standards.
- Minimum of five years of experience in residential lending, due diligence, or whole-loan transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret third-party due diligence reports, identify potential risk areas, and ensure loan-level compliance.
- Understanding of key residential lending regulations, including ATR/QM, TILA-RESPA, and TRID.
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing residential appraisal reports and valuation tools to ensure appropriate value support.
- Working knowledge of residential title policies, collateral documentation and the ability to interpret findings to support sound credit and underwriting decisions.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office suite.
