Resident Monitor (Relief)

About the role

This entry-level residential re-entry position in social services monitors the custody, security, control, and maintenance of the facility and residents. The role offers meaningful work in an indoor environment with a focus on positively impacting the community by assisting individuals in their re-entry process.

Pay

$22.84 per hour.

Schedule

This is a relief position requiring 16 hours per week, based on the needs of the center. The schedule is variable and may include split shifts or flexible hours, with a typical shift on Friday and Saturday from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Monitors residents by observing, documenting, and ensuring accountability of all residents within the facility and in the community. Enforces all rules, responsibilities, and restrictions assigned to residents. Controls and documents transactions involving money, subsistence, medications, first-aid supplies, mail, visitors, accountability checks, and telephone calls.
• Assists with managing program services, including supporting counselors with resident programming such as installing electronic monitoring equipment, visiting residents in their homes and places of employment, and conducting alcohol and urine surveillance testing.
• Monitors the facility by conducting and documenting scheduled internal and external inspections to maintain residents' health, safety, and accountability. Ensures physical plant safety and sanitation standards are upheld.
• Maintains working knowledge of and follows all procedures and policies outlined in the Statement of Work, Physical Plant, and Operations Manuals. Demonstrates proficiency in emergency drills, life safety, facility sanitation, escapes, and unusual occurrence procedures.
• Works necessary hours to staff the center in the event of a work stoppage and accepts reassigned shifts without advanced notice. Attends and participates in all required appointments and meetings, some of which may be scheduled off-site.
• Performs general housekeeping duties, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and emptying trash.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director. Note that operating standards, including staffing requirements and qualifications, may be modified by the Federal or State Contracting Authority and/or Executive Management to ensure service quality and continuity.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups in both routine and emergency situations.
• One year of paid work experience.
