About the role

The Resident Chef at Sur La Table is an interim position designed to support our Pike & Rose store during a transition period. This role requires a strong culinary background and a passion for sharing food experiences with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes to customers
  • Engage with customers to provide recommendations and enhance their dining experience
  • Support the store manager in planning and executing special events and promotions
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience
  • Valid Food Handler’s Permit
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

  • Proficiency in multiple cuisines
  • Excellent knife skills and knowledge of cooking techniques
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively

Pay

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience
