About the role
The Resident Chef at Sur La Table is responsible for providing exceptional culinary experiences to customers through the preparation and presentation of meals. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality meals to customers
- Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist with inventory management and ordering
- Participate in staff training and development programs
- Support the store's marketing efforts by participating in special events and promotions
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit
- Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment and techniques
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Qualifications
- College degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skills
- Proficient in using kitchen appliances and tools
