About the role

The Resident Chef at Sur La Table is responsible for providing exceptional culinary experiences to customers through the preparation and presentation of meals. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present high-quality meals to customers
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering
  • Participate in staff training and development programs
  • Support the store's marketing efforts by participating in special events and promotions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience
  • Valid Food Handler’s Permit
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment and techniques
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

  • College degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

  • Proficient in using kitchen appliances and tools
  • Knowledgeable about seasonal ingredients and trends
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently
