About the role

The Resident Chef at Sur La Table is responsible for providing exceptional culinary experiences to customers through hands-on cooking demonstrations and engaging with guests in the store.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cooking demonstrations that showcase a variety of cuisines and cooking techniques
  • Engage with customers to provide personalized recommendations and answer questions about products
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the store
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional kitchen experience
  • Experience with multiple cuisines and cooking styles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid food handler’s permit

Skills

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools
