About the role
The Resident Chef at Sur La Table is responsible for providing exceptional culinary experiences to customers through hands-on cooking demonstrations and engaging with guests in the store.
Responsibilities
- Lead cooking demonstrations that showcase a variety of cuisines and cooking techniques
- Engage with customers to provide personalized recommendations and answer questions about products
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the store
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of professional kitchen experience
- Experience with multiple cuisines and cooking styles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid food handler’s permit
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools
