Resale Store Manager -Full Time

About the Role

Responsible for managing all phases of a large, charitable used goods store, including inventory management, inventory pricing, customer relations, cash handling, staff supervision, volunteer recruitment, appeals for resale store item donations, and public relations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the store inventory so that adequate supplies of quality goods are available and logically and neatly displayed.
  • Set prices on all store merchandise consistent with the Program’s values of charity, economy, and human dignity.
  • Supervise and direct the clothing store staff, including volunteers, and perform staff evaluations.
  • Oversee staff and customer relations to ensure human dignity and respect are accorded to all customers.
  • Count cash daily and reconcile receipts to the cash register tape.
  • Prepare deposit slips and deposit money in the bank.
  • Recommend changes in store policies, procedures, and operations as recognized.
  • Recommend appeals to the public for clothing donations or volunteers as needed.
  • Order routine supplies for the store.
  • Promote public relations for the store within the community.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of agency and client interaction and information.
  • Perform other specific duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school or general education degree.
  • A demonstrated ability to work well with persons who are socially, economically, or physically disadvantaged.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or interest in all varieties of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing.
  • Ability to know and distinguish different fabrics.
  • Initiative, maturity, and flexibility.
  • Good physical condition, capable of performing necessary lifting of at least 50 lbs. and using proper safety techniques.

Schedule

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Some Saturday availability required.
