Registered Nurse - Pulmonary Medicine Unit - Night Shift

Position: Registered Nurse in Pulmonary Medicine Unit, managing higher acuity patients. Responsibilities Include Developing and evaluating individualized care plans, adjusting interventions for optimal outcomes.Assessing patient health data and communicating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.Providing culturally sensitive education on disease management, emergency care, and medication use, while connecting patients with community resources.Collaborating with peers and supporting professional development, including delegation of tasks.Offering psychological support and assisting technical staff with procedures like injections, venipuncture, and IV management.Participating in quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives.Monitoring wound, ostomy, and skin care treatments if qualified, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.Transporting acutely ill patients as needed. Qualifications Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.Active Illinois RN license.ACLS, BLS, and current CPR certification.Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and inpatient nursing experience. Skills: Strong assessment, communication, patient education, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.
