About the role
Registered Nurse in the Pulmonary Medicine Unit working with higher acuity patients.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate personalized care plans
- Assess patient health data
- Communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Document care activities
- Provide patient education tailored to individual learning needs
- Support professional development of colleagues
- Offer psychological support
- Assist technical staff with procedures such as injections, venipuncture, medication administration, and oxygen therapy
- Participate in performance improvement and research activities
- Monitor wound/ostomy care if skilled
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA
- Support transportation of acutely ill patients when needed
- Patient assessment
- Individualized education
- Care plan development
- Interdisciplinary communication
- Participation in quality initiatives
- Support of clinical education
- Adhere to safety and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
- Active Illinois RN license
- Certifications in BLS and ACLS (within 6 months)
- Preferred: Bachelor's in Nursing and at least 1 year inpatient experience
