About the Role
Provides leadership and coordinates staffing in a 12-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit, ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care under the supervision of a dedicated intensivist team.
Responsibilities
- Assigns, directs, educates, and monitors nursing and support staff during shifts, contributing to performance evaluations.
- Assesses patient care needs, develops care assignments, and ensures appropriate care delivery.
- Evaluates patient outcomes, identifies issues affecting care quality, and responds to care-related complaints.
- May participate in hiring, training, staff development, and evaluation processes.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program with at least one year of relevant experience.
- ACLS and PALS may be required within six months, depending on the unit.
