About the role
This role involves leading and coordinating staffing in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care. The unit provides intensive care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs in a dynamic environment that promotes clinical growth.
Responsibilities
- Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during shifts
- Contribute to performance evaluations
- Assess daily patient care needs and develop appropriate care assignments
- Evaluate patient care effectiveness
- Address patient care complaints
- Assist with staff hiring, training, and development
Requirements
- Current Alabama RN licensure
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Additional certifications such as ACLS and PALS may be required within 6 months
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program
