About the role

This role involves leading and coordinating staffing in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care. The unit provides intensive care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs in a dynamic environment that promotes clinical growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during shifts
  • Contribute to performance evaluations
  • Assess daily patient care needs and develop appropriate care assignments
  • Evaluate patient care effectiveness
  • Address patient care complaints
  • Assist with staff hiring, training, and development

Requirements

  • Current Alabama RN licensure
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • Additional certifications such as ACLS and PALS may be required within 6 months
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Diploma from an accredited nursing program
