Responsibilities
- Facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Promote optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients through the nursing process and adherence to patient care standards, guidelines, and state nurse practice act.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or endorsed by state.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required for new graduates; preferred for experienced RNs.
- One year experience preferred.
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty.
- RN License required; current state nursing license or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
Physical Requirements
Medium Work - Exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, up to 20 lbs force frequently, and up to 10 lbs force constantly.
Qualifications
The Intensive Care Unit at Holy Cross Hospital – West Valley is a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio with 10 beds for patients with conditions such as STEMI, sepsis, balloon pumps, impellas, post-cardiac arrest hypothermia, diabetic ketoacidosis, gastrointestinal bleeds, and medical and surgical ICU cases. The department welcomes students and supports cross-training to other departments.
