Registered Nurse, Float Pool

About the role

Provides direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with practice standards. Performs House Supervisor duties as needed to support hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Implements care plans including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care, monitors and communicates patient status to the care team, and assists with activities of daily living.
• Collaborates across disciplines for patient transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Educates patients and families based on individual needs and advocates for patient well-being.
• Supervises staffing assignments, provides staff training, coaching, and mentorship, and evaluates staff performance.
• Ensures quality of care, staff compliance with policies, and handles complex issues and complaints.
• Serves both internal and external stakeholders, manages sensitive/confidential information, and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Valid RN license
• Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS (per unit requirements)
