About the role
This position is assigned to Fort Sill Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, and will be referred out to Aquatics.
Duties
- Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills.
- Teaches students from age groups of infant through adults.
- Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction.
- Works with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times.
Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- Work experience related to the duties described above
- Water Safety Instructor Certification
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Certification
- First Aid Certification (Certificates issued by American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable)
Highly desirable: possession of a Lifeguard Certification.
Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of all required background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13. This includes a health screening. The incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children, and may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

- Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid.
