About the Role

Acts as a water safety instructor at the assigned aquatics facility, managing and instructing all swimming lessons as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Develop swim programs tailored to students' abilities and promote students to higher levels based on skill progression.
  • Instruct all levels of swimming, including front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly.
  • Teach students ranging from infants to adults.
  • Introduce and instruct safety and survival skills appropriate to the level of instruction.
  • Collaborate with lifeguards to ensure swim lessons are conducted safely at all times.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
  • Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for the position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must complete all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2.
  • May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • May be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Water Safety Instructor Certification (certificates issued by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard, or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable).
  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • First Aid Certification (certificates issued by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard, or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable).
  • Relevant experience must be clearly reflected on your resume at the time of application to be considered.

This job is part of a pay-banded system. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
