About the role
This position is sign on bonus eligible.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
- Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.
- Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
- Obtains medications, radiopharmaeceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse.
- Aids in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound).
- Aids physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams.
- Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams.
- Aids patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals and other ancillary clinical support needs as required.
- Aids with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
- Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of career in medical imaging.
- Medical clerical skills preferred.
- BLS required.
Qualifications
- Senior/ Rising Senior Radiography program student preferred.
- Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies.
- Frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling in the daily operation of the assigned clinical area.
- May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, being near moving equipment.
- Uses radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation, MRI safety, and infection control as dictated by the procedural area.
Skills
- Basic diagnostic x-ray skills.
- Ability to assist in patient care and administrative tasks.
- Knowledge of medical imaging procedures and protocols.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting and moving.

Pay
Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training. Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job. Opportunity for annual increases based on performance.
