Radiology Technologist Associate - Atrium Health Steele Creek - PRN
About the role
This position is available as a part-time benefit-eligible role at Steele Creek, with potential for PRN (Per Request Notified) hours, including weekends. The ideal candidate is a senior or rising senior student currently enrolled in a Radiography program.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of patient care duties and other professional activities as needed to facilitate patient care and treatment.
- Performs under the supervision of a radiology technologist.
- Affords assistance in monitoring the flow of patient activities in the department.
- Assists in obtaining medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
- Assists physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound).
- Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams.
- Affords assistance to patients in using restrooms, with bedpans, urinals, and other ancillary clinical support needs as required.
- Affords assistance with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
Senior/ rising senior student currently enrolled in Radiography program preferred.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
- Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of career in medical imaging.
- Medical clerical skills preferred.
- BLS required.
Skills
Basic diagnostic x-rays, patient care duties, assisting in monitoring patient activities, assisting with administrative tasks, and understanding radiation safety guidelines.

Pay Range: $21.00 - $21.00
Schedule
