Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit RN (Full-Time, Days)

About the role

This position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a specialized 9-bed Pulmonary Progressive Care Unit, focusing on patients with acute respiratory and pulmonary conditions such as lung transplants, pulmonary hypertension, and ventilator weaning. The nurse collaborates with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, including advanced practice nurses, to deliver timely treatment and patient education. This role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care in a respected academic medical center.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to nursing standards.
• Promote patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, medication, and post-discharge needs.
• Develop and document individualized care plans, ensuring clear communication across care teams.
• Participate in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and compliance, and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Support a healing environment by evaluating physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and cultural considerations.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree
• RN license
• No prior experience required (required)
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing and at least 2 years of experience

• Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a safety-sensitive role.
