About the role
The Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for delivering complex respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in critical care settings.
Responsibilities
- Administer aerosolized medications
- Manage ventilators
- Perform airway procedures
- Analyze arterial blood gases
- Educate patients and staff
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to plan and evaluate patient care, ensuring safety and quality standards
- Support staff development
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Promote evidence-based practices
- Maintain accurate documentation and electronic orders
- Contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor's preferred)
- NBRC-RRT certification
- RCP license
- BLS and ACLS certification
- 0–2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care
- Strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and computer skills
- Ability to assess, educate, and build professional relationships
