Responsibilities

  • Perform hemodialysis treatment procedures safely and efficiently.
  • Provide specialized registered nursing care in accordance with state law.
  • Assess patient responses to renal failure and its treatments.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate appropriate care plans for patients.
  • Communicate significant information to the appropriate team members.
  • Document in a clear, concise, and thorough manner.
  • Administer medications correctly and as ordered.
  • Obtain and perform routine tests on laboratory specimens.
  • Delegates responsibilities appropriately and follows through on delegated tasks.
  • Assumes primary nurse responsibilities as directed.
  • Assumes responsibility for special unit projects.
  • Participates in performance improvement projects.
  • Maintains a neat and clean environment.
  • Reports errors and near misses to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensures the confidentiality of patient, employee, and company information.
  • Prepares daily dialysis logs and set-ups for each shift of patients.
  • Stocks and orders necessary blood work supplies.
  • Participates in self and/or peer evaluations.
  • Participates in in-service education programs.
  • Assists in the orientation of new staff members.
  • Participates in annual QAPI training and other continuing education.
  • Contributes to the unit's Quality Assurance Program.
  • Participates in IDT and QAPI committees.
  • Identifies and reports concerns, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participates in special unit projects as directed.
  • Understands and follows all Rendevor policies and procedures for infection control.
