Responsibilities

  • Perform hemodialysis treatment procedures safely and efficiently.
  • Provide specialized registered nursing care in accordance with state law.
  • Assess patients thoroughly and document responses to renal failure and treatments.
  • Adjust patient therapy based on observed changes and respond to emergencies.
  • Develop and implement care plans for patients, collaborating with various healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate significant information to appropriate team members and ensure paperwork is completed properly.
  • Administer medications correctly and teach patients about their dosages and potential side effects.
  • Obtain laboratory specimens and perform routine tests, interpreting results and discussing them with relevant professionals.
  • Delegate responsibilities and ensure tasks are completed, including set-up, reuse, trash removal, and machine cleaning.
  • Assume primary nurse responsibilities in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
  • Understand and adhere to Rendevor policies and procedures for infection control.
  • Contribute to the unit's Quality Assurance Program and participate in performance improvement projects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, checking email regularly and responding promptly.
  • Support the orientation of new staff members and participate in self and peer evaluations.
  • Promote a safe and quality-focused facility culture by reporting errors, near-misses, and concerns.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent.
  • Current RN license for Massachusetts and current CPR certification (within three months of hire).
  • One year of Hemodialysis RN experience (two to three years preferred).
  • Strong technical and computer proficiency.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Understanding of basic renal function and its consequences.
  • Knowledge of common lab results and their implications for ESRD patients.
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and follow through on tasks.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in correctional facilities or similar environments.
  • Compliance with Rendevor policies and procedures for infection control.
  • Understanding of legal consequences of nursing actions.
  • Ability to develop and implement care plans collaboratively.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.

Pay

Competitive pay is offered to PRN team members.

Schedule

PRN employees work 6 days per week, rotating shifts between 5:30am and 4:00pm.
