Responsibilities
- Perform hemodialysis treatment procedures safely and efficiently.
- Provide specialized registered nursing care in accordance with state law.
- Assess patients thoroughly and document responses to renal failure.
- Adjust patient therapy based on observed changes and notify the nephrologist when necessary.
- Develop and implement care plans for patients, collaborating with various healthcare professionals.
- Communicate significant information to appropriate team members and ensure paperwork is completed properly.
- Administer medications correctly and teach patients about safe dosages and potential side effects.
- Obtain laboratory specimens and perform routine tests, interpreting results and discussing them with dietitians and nephrologists.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately and ensure all delegated tasks are completed.
- Assume primary nurse responsibilities in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
- Understand and follow Rendevor policies and procedures for infection control.
- Contribute to the unit's Quality Assurance Program and participate in performance improvement projects.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, reporting errors and near-misses promptly.
- Participate in self and/or peer evaluations, ensuring confidentiality of patient, employee, and company information.
- Prepare daily logs, set up patients for shifts, and assist in orientation of new staff members.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent.
- Current RN license for Arkansas and current CPR certification.
- One year of Hemodialysis RN experience (two to three years preferred).
- Strong technical/computer proficiency with relevant software.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
- Understanding of basic renal function and its consequences.
- Knowledge of common lab results and their implications.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare team.
- Experience in a correctional facility setting is beneficial but not required.
- Compliance with Rendevor's policies and procedures for infection control.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the unit's schedule.
- Pass a comprehensive background check as required by the Department of Corrections.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent.
- License: Current RN license for Arkansas.
- CPR Certification: Current CPR certification.
- Experience: One year of Hemodialysis RN experience (two to three years preferred).
- Skills: Strong technical/computer proficiency, ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English, and understanding of basic renal function and its consequences.
- Other: Compliance with Rendevor's policies and procedures for infection control, ability to work flexible hours, and passing a comprehensive background check.

- Work Environment: Hospital or medical unit of a post-acute or correctional facility, exposure to chemicals and blood-borne pathogens, use of both medical and standard office equipment, cannot be performed remotely.
- Physical Demands: Regularly stand, walk, twist, crouch, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms; push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds; close vision and ability to adjust focus; work the full schedule which may range from five to fifteen hours per day, based on the unit requirements (i.e. patient census, staffing needs, etc.).
