Responsibilities

  • Perform hemodialysis treatment procedures safely and efficiently.
  • Provide specialized registered nursing care in accordance with state law.
  • Assess patients thoroughly and document responses to renal failure and treatments.
  • Develop and implement care plans for patients, collaborating with various healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate significant information to appropriate team members and ensure all paperwork is completed properly.
  • Administer medications correctly and teach patients about their dosages and potential side effects.
  • Obtain and perform routine laboratory tests, interpreting results and communicating with dietitians and nephrologists.
  • Delegate responsibilities appropriately and ensure all delegated tasks are completed.
  • Assume primary nurse responsibilities in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
  • Follow legal and ethical guidelines, promoting patient education and safety.
  • Participate in unit quality assurance programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Respond promptly to emails and maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent.
  • Current RN license for KY and current CPR certification.
  • One year of Hemodialysis RN experience (two to three years preferred).
  • Strong technical and computer proficiency.

Pay

The hourly rate for PRN employees ranges from $45.00 to $50.00 per hour, based on documented experience, qualifications, and market data.

Schedule

This Dialysis Unit operates Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 4:30am - 5pm. As a PRN team member, you will have the flexibility to coordinate your schedule to fit your availability.
