PRN Dialysis Registered Nurse, RN

Responsibilities

• Perform hemodialysis treatment procedures with safe and efficient care.
• Provide specialized registered nursing care in accordance with state law.
• Assist in developing and implementing care plans for patients.
• Communicate significant information to the appropriate team members.
• Administer medications and perform routine tests as ordered.
• Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the dialysis unit.
• Assume primary nurse responsibilities in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
• Participate in performance improvement projects and contribute to the Quality Assurance Program.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent.
• Current RN license for Indiana and current CPR certification.
• One year of Hemodialysis RN experience (two to three years preferred).
• Strong technical/computer proficiency with relevant software.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency.
• Understanding of renal function and its consequences.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of ESRD and its treatment.
• Understanding of legal consequences of nursing actions.

• Technical skills in administering medications and performing tests.
• Documentation skills for accurate and thorough record-keeping.
• Leadership qualities for managing patient care and delegating responsibilities.
• Collaborative skills for working with the healthcare team and clients.

Pay

The hourly rate for PRN employees ranges from $40.00 to $45.00 per hour, based on documented experience, qualifications, and market data.

Schedule

This Dialysis Unit operates Monday through Saturday from 5:00 AM to 4:30 PM within Plainfield Correctional Facility in Plainfield, IN.
