Post Surgical RN

About the role

Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adults in a Critical Care Step Down Unit with conditions such as congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA, and sepsis.

Responsibilities

• Utilize skills in EKG interpretation, central line care, rescue Bi-PAP, high flow oxygen, and bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies).
• Demonstrate critical thinking, delegation, and effective time management while collaborating with Patient Care Nursing Assistants, Nurse Interns, providers, and rehabilitation staff.
• Manage a 14-bed unit in a fast-paced environment equipped with advanced technology including telemetry monitoring and virtual communication tools.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Ohio.
• Certifications required: BLS (within 90 days of hire) and ACLS (within 6 months).
• PRN applicants need at least 1 year of relevant RN experience and all certifications at hire.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• BSN degree.
• Professional certification recognized by the Magnet organization.

• Strong clinical skills in critical care procedures.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Ability to adapt to rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
