About the role
As a Float Phlebotomist, you will travel to various patient service centers and clinics, gaining diverse experience while working with different patients and team members. This role is ideal for those who enjoy variety and seek continuous growth within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other diagnostic needs.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information.
- Process billing information and collect payments when required.
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
- Provide superior customer service to all patients.
- Handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
- Travel to additional sites as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
- California state-issued Phlebotomy license (CPT).
- In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency is acceptable.
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year or more of experience as a phlebotomist.
- Current or prior experience at LabCorp.
Pay
- Pay Range: $21.00–$33.00 per hour.
- Float Incentive: Additional $1.50 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.
- Quarterly Incentive Bonus Program: Eligible for performance-based quarterly bonuses.
Schedule
- Variable hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM.
- Additional days/hours as needed, including some Saturdays.
