About the role
The Phlebotomist Float performs laboratory duties such as specimen collection, processing, and waived testing to support patient care.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary techniques, ensuring safety and accuracy.
- Process and prepare specimens for testing, troubleshoot issues, and maintain proper documentation.
- Perform waived laboratory tests as needed.
- Engage professionally with patients and healthcare providers, providing clear instructions and compassionate service.
- Follow safety, confidentiality, and compliance standards, including HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Travel to various locations as required, with a focus on efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to a positive work environment, promote operational efficiency using Lean principles, and uphold core values.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and accredited Phlebotomy Certificate.
- State-certified Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) certification.
- BLS certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- At least 1 year of computer proficiency and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and reliable transportation for travel.
- Preferred: 6+ months healthcare or laboratory experience.
