About the Role
Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in East Nassau and West Suffolk County, NY. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of patients, team members, and clinics/locations, providing a unique and dynamic work environment. As a Float Phlebotomist, you'll gain valuable experience and set yourself up for continuous growth within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
- Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
- Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
- Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Handle administrative and clerical duties as needed
- Travel to additional sites when required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
- Must be at least 21 years old
Pay
Pay Range: $17.75 - $26.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Benefits
- Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement
- Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

Work Schedule: 24 hours a week; Monday, Friday, and Saturday 6:30am-4:00pm
