We are seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our team at the STARS Baker City Clinic. This role involves creating a positive patient experience and assisting with administrative tasks.
Position Details
- Part-time role
- Shift: Day
- Location: 3325 Pocahontas Rd, Baker City, OR 97814
- Typical working hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus
- Medical terminology preferred
- Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred
Essential Functions
- Knows, understands, and incorporates the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes
Additional Duties
- Acknowledges and greets patients immediately
- Registers patients for appointments and completes paperwork
- Verifies and updates existing patient and insurance information
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule
- Informs patients of delays and explains the anticipated wait time
- Collects and communicates patients' responsible balances for visits, diagnostics, supplies, etc.
- Assists with financial assistance paperwork control
- Maintains business office inventory and equipment, orders supplies
- Maintains a neat work area including the reception area
- Fulfills Cash Control Policy and balances daily financial activities
- Ensures collection of payments at the time of service
