Patient Service Representative PRN Baker City
About the role
The Patient Service Representative at Saint Alphonsus Health System will play a significant part in creating a great experience for patients and their families. This is a PRN role that helps provide staffing coverage as needed at the Baker City Hospital location. The role covers the STARS Clinic (rehabilitative services) as well as the main hospital registration team and will be cross-trained in multiple areas.
Responsibilities
- Check in patients for appointments
- Collect patient co-pays
- Answer telephones
- Take accurate messages
- Schedule appointments
- Check insurance eligibility
- Use EPIC to update required information
- Communicate with patients and families
- Provide superior customer service
- Utilize independent decision-making skills
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus
- Medical terminology preferred
- Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred

PRN role with shifts typically between the hours of 6:00AM - 6:00PM, Monday through Friday.
