Role Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to improve patient well-being, following a plan of care established by a supervising Physical Therapist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all state laws governing home care physical therapy and adhere to treatment protocols set by the supervising PT.
  • Assist patients with active/passive exercises, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
  • Observe, document, and report patient responses and condition changes to the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members within scope of practice.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Current license, registration, or certification to practice in Washington.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, or access to public transit.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to patient care, including lifting and mobility assistance (preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse home environments.
