Part-Time Freight Handler

Position Overview: Transport freight within dock areas, moving it to and from trailers for loading and unloading. Key Responsibilities Handle freight using equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools and supplies.Inspect, recoup, or repair damaged freight as needed.Complete required documentation and assist customers with freight and documentation.Perform hostling duties if required and comply with all safety regulations and company policies.Maintain proper freight handling and documentation procedures. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift heavy freight, and operate manual and motorized equipment.Strong communication skills, ability to work independently or in a team.Physical ability to lift, carry, bend, twist, push, and pull freight regularly. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, noise, and a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting. Flexibility required for operational needs.
