Part-Time Freight Handler

Position Overview: Responsible for transporting freight within the dock area to and from trailers for loading and unloading, utilizing motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Key Responsibilities Handle freight securely inside trailers, verify documentation, and ensure proper documentation completion.Secure freight with straps, ropes, and pallets; repair or recoup damaged freight as needed.Assist customers with freight-related needs and perform hostling duties if required.Comply with all safety laws, regulations, and company policies; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and open trailer doors repeatedly.Strong physical ability to bend, twist, push, pull, and work independently or as part of a team.Basic communication skills; previous dock or warehouse experience is advantageous. Working Conditions: Work in a dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Conditions may vary based on operational needs, with frequent contact with personnel in a fast-paced setting.
