Part-Time Freight Handler

Position Overview: This role involves transporting freight within a dock area, moving cargo to and from trailers for loading and unloading purposes. Essential Functions Operate motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to handle freight.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and ropes.Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed.Complete required documentation and reports accurately.Assist customers with freight and related documentation.Perform hostling duties if required.Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, open trailer doors, and work in a physical environment.Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Occasional variable hours in a fast-paced setting with frequent interaction with personnel.
