Part-Time Freight Handler

Role Overview: This position involves transporting freight within a dock environment, ensuring proper handling, documentation, and safety compliance. Responsibilities Include Using motorized and manual equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move freight.Verifying freight details against documentation, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Securing freight inside trailers with straps, pallets, and ropes.Recouping or repairing damaged freight as needed.Completing required reports and assisting with freight documentation.Performing hostling duties if necessary and supporting customer interactions.Adhering to all safety laws, regulations, and company policies.Performing additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations preferred.Ability to lift and carry freight, open trailer doors, and perform physical tasks repeatedly.Basic math, communication skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.Prior dock or warehouse experience is advantageous. Working Conditions: The role involves exposure to varied weather, noise, fumes, and dust in a fast-paced dock setting. Flexibility in hours may be required, with frequent contact with service personnel.
