Part-Time Freight Handler

Position Overview: This role involves transporting freight within a dock area, moving cargo to and from trailers for loading and unloading. Key Responsibilities Handle freight using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools and supplies.Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed.Complete necessary reports and documentation.Assist customers with freight and documentation.Perform hostling duties if required and comply with all laws and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and open trailer doors.Strong physical ability to bend, twist, push, and pull freight.Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.Experience with dock or warehouse work is advantageous. Working Conditions: The environment involves exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise, with a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting. Flexibility in hours may be required.
