Part Time - Freight Handler

Position Overview Transport freight within dock areas to and from trailers for loading and unloading, ensuring proper handling and documentation. Essential Functions Operate motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight details against documentation, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and ropes.Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed.Complete required reports and assist customers with freight documentation.Perform hostling duties if required and ensure compliance with all safety laws and policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and operate equipment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently or in a team, with physical capability to perform manual tasks.Previous dock or warehouse experience is a plus. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced and deadline-driven setting requiring frequent physical activity and safety adherence.
