Part Time - Freight Handler

Position Overview Transport freight within dock areas to and from trailers for loading and unloading, ensuring safe handling and securement. Responsibilities Operate motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks for freight movement.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools like straps, ropes, and pallets.Address damaged freight through recouping or repairs when necessary.Complete required documentation and reports accurately.Assist customers with freight-related inquiries and documentation.Perform hostling duties if required.Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Minimum age of 18 years.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and operate trailer doors.Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.Physical ability to lift and handle freight and operate equipment regularly.Previous dock or warehouse experience is a plus. Working Conditions Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced and deadline-driven setting requiring frequent physical activity and teamwork.
