Part Time - Freight Handler

Position Overview: The role involves transporting freight within the dock area, loading and unloading trailers, and securing cargo using appropriate equipment and tools. Responsibilities Include Handling freight with motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verifying freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Securing freight inside trailers and repairing damaged cargo when necessary.Completing required reports and assisting customers with freight documentation.Performing hostling duties if needed and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.Performing additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations is preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and open trailer doors requiring significant force.Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.Physical ability to bend, twist, squat, push, and pull freight regularly. Working Conditions: The environment involves exposure to weather, exhaust, fumes, dust, and noise, with a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting involving frequent contact with staff.
