Part Time - Freight Handler

Position Overview: Transport freight within dock areas to/from trailers for loading and unloading. Essential Functions Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify documentation accuracy for freight type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools like straps and pallets.Repair or recoup damaged freight as needed.Complete necessary documentation and reports accurately.Assist customers with freight and documentation tasks.Perform hostling duties if required, ensuring proper trailer movement.Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations preferred.Ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.Ability to lift and carry freight, operate equipment, and perform physical tasks such as bending and twisting.Capable of working independently or as part of a team. Working Conditions: Exposure to dock environment, weather variations, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting with frequent contact with personnel.
